Magistrate's Court
WEDNESDAY, September 14. 1904. (Uefore Mr T. Hutchison, S.M.) ADJOURNED. The case S. A. Street v. dames Street, George Ed. Street, Dalisy Street, and Eveline Street, was, on the application of Mr Kerr, for the complainant, adjourned for a month, Mr Qnilliam (for Daisy and Eveline Street) ottering no objections. ALLEGED BESTIALITY. Thomas Ahern, a respectable looking man, apparently in the thirties, was charged with committing a bestial act on September 4th, at Okato.
Sergeant Haddrcll prosecuted or behalf of tho police, and Mr T. S Weston (Weston and Weston) defeaded.
Constable Und gave evidence a; to arresting accused, who remarket
"I expected this; in fact, I expected to bo arrested at Rahotu on my way to Opunako," stating that the licensee of the hotel had threatened to inform the police. Alex. Baker, licensee of the Okato Hotel, stated that he and others had followed accused into the back yard and caught him in a position giving tlie inference that he had committed the offence with which he was charged. This was corroborated by Ebonezer Wooldridge, George Kiirimu, and W. Eustace, all of whom were present at the hotel. Accused was committed for trial, bail ■being allowed, accused in his own recognizance of £IOO and two sureties of £SO each.
