A Fashionable Wedding.
WEBSTER-LA W'SON. "Happy tiie bride that the sun shines on." If there be truth at all .n the old saying, then happy mould t,e the l o t of the couple made one at the Presbyterian Church an Tuesday afternoon. Half-past one was the hour appointed for the wedding- ceremony, and long before that time the church was well filled with the large numbers of irieiids and relatives of tho contracting parties, who were Mr Clement Webster, thiid son of Mr W. D. Webster, and Miss Jessie Grover Lawson, only daughter of the late Mr John Lawson, both of New Plymouth, Both having been Now Plymouth born, and intimately associated with many social institutions here, the young couple have .nade themselves most popular in all classes, and it was not at all re.narkable that there should have been displayed such widespread interest in the ceremony. The bride was most ,'.;_'comingly attired; and looked really charming in a dainty costume of cream silk voilo rlfcnfy trimmed with white silk embroidery over a cream glace silk. A lovely veil of Honiton lace, an heirloom, was worn and the bride also carried an exquisite .-shower bouquet of clematis, white hyacinths, white stocks and lycopodium. Tlie bridesmaids were Miss" lliss Beatrice Webster, Miss Letitia .-iggs, Miss Leila Webster, and Miss Maud Perry. The dresses were of cream voile, the bodices being prettily trimmed with medallions of it ring-coloured lace, and they wore cliiarmin-v white hats trimmed with Neapolitan violets and violet chiffon. Each carried a pretty bouquet of violets and canedin, with purple dreamers. Tho bride wore a handsome pearl pendant, the gift of tho bridegroom, who presented the oi-idesmaids with pendants, of greenstone. Mr Isaac Bayly, uncle of the ,rido, gave her away. The groom was attended iby Mr Russell Stundish as best man, and Messrs L. B. Webiter, S. Sergeant, and Lewis «e.l<;ter us groomsmen. 'J'he marriage service was conducted by Rev. S. S. Osborne, and the "Wedding March" was played by Air W. Perry, After the ceremony a large party of intimate .friends were entertained at the ■csidence of the bridegroom's parcuts, and the usual toasts loyally honoured. Tho happy couple, who left by the 4.25 p.m. train for the South, were the recipients of a great many handsome presents, and congratulatory messages from all parts of the colony.
