Personal Notes.
Mr M. J. Brookes, manager of the Dresden Piano Company, Wellington, arrived in New Plymouth last evening. Mr J. Boddie, of Eltham, president of the Taranaki executive oi the Farmers' Union, .is expected to visit tho Warca branch shortly.
Mr, Secklon returned to Wellington on Monday night from a brief sojourn at Featherston, whither he had gone fora little rest and quiet. Dr.-Wulker, of New Plymouth,, was married in London oh Saturday last to Miss Lillian Muir, daughter of tho late Mr Joseph Allisoa Muir, Kensington. Mr R. B. Nimneley, of the Cable Company's stall at Cable Hay, Nelson, has- been promoted to .Port Darwin. He leaves New Zealand on Saturday next. 'Mr Thomas Shaffery, one of Hokitika's oldest residents, is dead. He was for many years a hotel-keeper in North Revell Street, and took an active part in the affairs of the town in the early days, and for over 15 years was a member of the Fire Brigade, of which he was secretary for a term. '
