THAT NEW SHRUB.I Sir,—Much speculation has existed here for some weeks as to the order and name of a shrub, specimens of which have from time to time been found on the ranges near the Upper Carrington Rood. With the object of sifting the matter the writer sent specimens of the seed pods and leaves to Mr T. F. Cheeseman, of AuckAuckland. Ms reply, which came to hand "to-day, is as follows :—"Musolum, Auckland.—Dear Sir,—The plant "sent with your letter of 80th ult. Pittosporum Cornifoliuin, a common shrub in this part of New Zealand, but much rarer south of Auckland.— T. F. Cheeseman." 1 am, etc., Q. A. (IREEN., Manager Morshead Nursery Co. September sth, 1904.
