BUTTER PRICES.
NOT LIKELY TO IMPROVE. (Received August 21, 9.6 a.m.* LONDON, August 20. Weddel's annual review of the butter trade says blue serious deterioration in quality o<f Australian butter is due to the improper use of private separators a nd other uifecientific methods. The quality ol New Zealand brands is even superior to that of the previous year, and is steadily gaining favour, toeing now regarded as more satisfactory than most Australian. There was reason to expect a decreased supply of Continental butter, but the Argentine and Australasia would probably increase their exports, therefore, with general trado bad and many persons unemployed, the next season's prices were not likely to improve on those of last season.
