Miss Margarofc Burr, of Ashliurion, waa the only candidate in tlie colony at tho last examinations of the Associated Hoard of the Ito. al Academy of Music who gained' honours in the advanced grade. A recent number of the SydneyMail announces the 'death, in Victoria, of Mr T, K. m 'Uonougjh, said to be the last survivor of the tlourke and Willis exploring expedition. The deceased was well known in New Zealand. Ho was fornierly Chief I'os'tFostmastev at Wamganui, subsequunitly ono of the travelling lecturers for UlO Government Lifo Insuranco Offlco, then in its young days.
