BOMBAY, August 17. Tne Dalai Lama, before departing from Lhassa, appointed a tupa, or regent.
Negotiations have taken a favourable turn, the Thibetans being anxious to be rid of the Britisih.
According to the Amban there are no reasonable objections to the terms of the treaty.
