The Shops and Offices Hill was considered in committee. In the interpretation clause Mr Duthio moved an amendment to the definition oi " Office," exempting offices in which any person is employed to do professional work. After a lengthy discussion this was carried by 32 votes to 21, and Sir Joseph Wait! agreed j to report progress. The Gaming and Lotteries Act j Amendment Hill was read a second timo by 44 votes to 3.
