Govett-Brown Memorial.
A meeting of the subscribers to this fund was held last evening in St Mary's Hall, the Venerable Archdeacon Cole presiding. A statement of accounts was presented by Mr J. A. McKellar, hon treasurer, and Mr J, C. George, hon. secretary, read a report showing the progress of tho fund. The accounts showed that £I3OO had been promised—£6oo for tho establishment of missionors in the back-blocks, and £7OO for the St. Mary's memorial (to take, probably, some form of enlargement).
j Over £7OO is already actually in hand, and the committee will at once proceed to obtain plans and estimates for the work at St. Mary's. Archdeacon Cole announced that he hoped soon t« have the fund for the missioner increased t 0 £IOOO, which ho proposed should bo a permanent endowment for tho purposes of the mission. Promises of further donations had been received from sympathisers in Canada and England.
