Thomas Uusst, changed with /breaking and entering a warchouM, * 'pleaded guilty to theft from tho pre***' mi seas and was sentenced to thre# months' imprisonment, having been already three months in gaol awaiting trial. Win. Evans, alias Wilson, for entering a dwelling and stealing money, received four years' Inipri*- ~ onment. Meredith McCausland plea* •' ded guilty to stealing cattle at Aldington. Tho evidence showed him to bo mentally weak, and! be wa»smtenced to six months, Thos. Vickery, convicted of ing the cattle, was sentenced to eighteen months. WELLINGTON, Auguit *. At the Supreme Court to-day Charles Burrowus was charged wiU« breaking und entering a warehouae at Wellington and stealing therefrhm 1400 cigars. The jury tailed to agree, and the Crown Prosecutor'* application for a now.trial was hold over, and the prisoner remanded till Baturday.
