THREE;DAYS HEAVY FIGHTING. IMPORTANT POINT TAKEN. LONDON, August 3. It is reported from Tokio that after three duyp. desperate lighting the Japanese captured Slmn-tat-kow, an important defensive position at Port Arthur. THE ATTACK MAINTAINED. HEAVY LOSSES ON BOTH SIDES. (Received August 4, 10.14 p.m.) LONDON, August 4. Continuous and severe lighting is proceeding at Port Arthur, and heavy losses are reported to have been sustained on both sides.
