(Per Press Association.) WOODVILLE, July 18. Mr Crowe, one of the Government candidates for the Pahiatua seat, had. a good reception here on Saturday night. He said that notwith- - standing the decision of the Liberal conference, he refuted to stand down, for>-fln outsider especially, seeing that the conference was composed of individualsy who were self-appointed and did notSCeprescnt a third of the electorate. IftXconsidered it an insult to say they hahj not a local man good enough to re]f ,res ent them in Parliament. He waV a supporter of the .freehold, and objected to prohibition it the consumption of liquor was not .prohibited, butm if clause 9 was actceptjd by the |/f>tpcrance party he , would vote fo>* colormtl prohibition. (he appointment of a ilflgti;' Commissioner for Ithe colony and opposed IJible-reading in schools. He received a vote of thanks.
