RECOMMENDATIONS OF NEW PLYMOUTH TRADESMEN,

At a meeting of the oxecutivo of the Traders' ami Employers' Association hold on Tuesday tho proposed Shops and Offices Dill came under discussion.

The following were tho principal resolutions passed :

That this meeting Is strongly opposed to Saturday as a universal half holiday, and strongly opposed to tho introduction of a plebiscite. That this meeting favours the midweek half-holiday, and suggests Wednesday as an alternate day to Saturday to apply throughout the colony.

That tho question of tho amount of air space necessary for those employed in shops and oflices bo defined by statute, and not left to the dictates of whoever may for the timo being too inspector, That sections 2 and 1 of clause 28 and subsection Dof section 1 of clause 28 be deleted. (Sections 2 and 3 provide that tho occupfor of an office shall at all times keep a re-icord-book culled the "Extra-timo 'Book," wherein shall be entered a correct record showing , , , tho respective dates, periods and purposes of such employment.
