New Plymouth Carnival.
I The carnival executive met last night, Mi' 11. Ooodacre (in the absence of the piesnkiit, Mr Cock) in . the chuir. There was a, good attendance of members. Mr .Jay, on behalf of the axemen's carnival committee, recommended that the programme submitted by Mr Hardy would provide entertainment for two evenings and one afternoon, the big events to take place
on (lie second afternoon. A tem- | porary grandstand and the nccosi siiry fencing would cost £55, and I tlic sale of old timber would recoup i the committee to the extent of £3O. 1 —Consideration was deferred.
| The building committee's report I was rderrwl back to them. I Air Moroy moved, and Mr Ambury seconded, that an accommodation committee be appointed, consisting of Messrs Wood, Joy, E. Sole, ,J. Harvey, and the secretary. —Carried.
