THE CARTHUSIAN MONKS SCANDAL. PARIS, July 10. The Committee of Inquiry, by 18 votes to 8, reports that there is no proof of an attempt at bribery of a politician on behalf of the Carthusian Order, and regrets .that M. Emlle Combes imprudently, and without sufficient reason, had thrown the country into the greatest excitement.
