(Per Press Association.) TIMAKU, July 11. Last Friday night the lessee of tho ClurkeKfleld Estate, W&it&ki, mot with a distressing accident. He was riding home when his horse shied a nd the Saddle slipped round, one of Denton's feet sticking in tho stirrup. He was dragged for some distance and trodden on by the frightened horse, till the Btirrup-leather broke. On tho horse returning home rldorless a search party went out and found: Donton at 4 a.m., after ho had lain five hours. Fortunately the night was warm. The Injuries are serious, one log and somo ribs being broken and some internal organ ruptured. Denton wbb removed 30 miles to a private hospital at VVaimate, where he was operated on for the internal injuries, and Is now reported to be doing well.
