The Waitara Rifles are supporting ihe proposal to give junior marksmen's shield for competition. Mr Smyth has presented a modal to the Waitara Rifles, to be awarded to the man putting In the greatest number of parades from July •tth to tho end of the valunteer year (February 28th), church parades' included. Any man falling in and answering his name, then falling out without proceeding' with the drill, will not 'bo counted as having attended so far as this competition is concerned.
