At the land sale held in Stratford some years ago a site was set hpart for an hospital, in the middle !of which is a municipal reserve | which the Stratford Borough Council would undoubtedly transfer to a Stratford Hospital Board ; but to New Plymouth—it Is doubtful. I should like to aSk the Clifton County Council, through its chairman, to piiblish a return of tho amount paid by the Stratford County and Uorough Councils, also a return of the amounts paid out to this district in the shape of hospital fees and vfoaritable aid received. Stratford i&'quito ably to work out her salvation without the anslistuncc of the New Plymouth Hospital and Charitable Aid Itoand. The people of New Plymouth raid surrounding districts should wake up to the fact that it' is the country that keeps their haijbour going, and their freezing works, and that they are reaching out with both hands to make their carnival and exhibition a success by getting the country people to support it. Let them Look out they don't overstep the mark, and find the sympathies of Stratford alienated and its trade transferred to Patea—l am, otc„ SAMARITAN. Stratford, Juno 30, 1004.
