NEW GUINEA TRAGEDY.
A JUDGE'S DEATH. (Received J una 22, 7.11 p.m.) THURSDAY ISLAND, June 22. A China steamer brings news that Mr Robinson, judicial oflicer in N'ew Guinea, shot himself one morning, and died twenty minutes later. Xo particulars of the tragedy are to hand. Deceased was a son of Archdeacon Robinson, of New Zealand. (Received Juno 22, 11.40 p.m.) THURSDAY ISLAND, June 22. According to later news it appears that Captain Barton, who is investigating the lato Merrie England altruy with Uoabari natives, discovered Mr Robinson ou Sunday near his residence. There was a bullet wound in his head and a revolver by His side. Ho died in fifteen minutes, without speaking. It is believed that Mr Hdlmison left a written statement regarding the Merrio Kngland alTray. Captain Barton states that he was conversing .with Mr Robinson some time previous, when ho appeared in good spirits.
