Alleged Arson.

(Per Press Association), NELSON, June 18. Tho Supreme Court was occupied all day in the trial of Thomas McFarlane, charged with wilfully setting fire to the Criterion Hotel at Lyell. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty.

The judge, addressing Die prisoner, said : "You are discharged," and the prisoner remarked, <"I thank your Honour, the jury, and counsel."

His Honour ,■ "You had better say no more. The jury say that you are not guilty, ami youi aro discharged."
