Cattle.—At tho Newmarket yards on Tuesday there was a moderate yarding of dairy and storo cattle, und a full supply of beef. The fat cattle throughout were of excullent quality, ox beef soiling to 22s and cow at 17s to 21s per 1001b. A draft of 40 stews and stags sent in by Mr F. W. Manning, Jun., Otuu, averaged £9 12s Gd, We quote :-Fat steers £6 15s to £ll 10s, fat cows £4 5s to £7 10s, dairy cows £4 15s to £B, empty do. £2 17s Od to £4 ss, calves £1 14s to £2 lis. Sheep.—Yarded in full numbers and met good competition. Fat wethers made 14s Od to 2i)s, fat ewes 9s Sid to 19s <Jd, hoggets (in full supply) 7s (id to 15s.

Pigs.—Porkers £1 4s to £2 19s, weaners t)s (id to 19s 9d. We submitted an extra large catalogue of hides and skins, etc., on Tuesday. Hides.—Market advanced id per lb. Wo quote :—Prime ox 7Jd to Bd, extra stout do. Yd to 7jd, stout do. Sheepskins. Market linn. We quote : Best butchers' 3s Sd to 3s Dd country butchers' 3s 2d to 3* od. small and damaged 2s to 2s 4d.

Tallow,—Broken casks and packages 15s (id to 18s, seconds 12s lid to 14s, rough fat I'd per lb. Horschair.-ls 2d to Is 3d. Bones £5. Toils Is sd.

Oats.—Tho Southern market is a shade firmer, but locally prices still remain easy. "B" grade are worth Is 9Jd ex ship. Maize.—The market has weakened to the extent of Id per bushel since last repart.

Chaff.—Southern still In short supply and price advancing. Good samples are selling at £5 n ton. Potatoes.—The glut recorded in last week's report has worked off, and prime Canterbury's have advanced to £2 5s to £2 7s Od per ton c.i.f.

Butter.—There is a good demand for prime lines of separator, which realise from 8d to BJd ; poorer lines are selling at Yd to 7>d per lb. Cheese.—Prices have touched bottom, and more business is resulting.
