Parihaka Road Board.

At the last meeting of the Parihaka Koad Board there were present Messis Bothers* (chairman), \\. 1 levell, C. ttorrensoii, A. F. Chapman, and W. U. Wright. The engineer's report was read and considered. Mr Sorrenson moved and Mr Chapman seconded that the foreman be authorised to erugiu&e a driver for the horse, and to fence oft' the approach to the Warea bridge. On the motion of Messrs Sorrenson and Revell it was decided that the foreman should repair the formation of Puniho road, which was in a "bad State. Messrs Revell and Chapman moved ■ln the -direction of approaching the action of letting the draining on the Opura road to W. E. Wallace at 80s per chain. This was carried. In committee, the Board accepted B. Harford's tender for formation work on the Ngariki road at £4 15s per chain. The cost of this work ha 9 been provided by loan. It was decided to allow Penham the assistance of a man for four days in replacing culverts on the Waiteika road. The Bourd decided to contribute 30a towards the cost of the culvert at the foot of the Kahui Koad, but at the sanfe time to inform the Eginont County Council that the Board admitted no responsibility. The clerk was instructed to write to Mrs Corkin and inform her that she must at once open the drain filled in by a crossing to luer property on the Kahui ro.ad, otherwise the Bourd will do the work at her expense. On the motion of Messrs Wright and Revell it was decided lo instruct the foreman to prepare a report on the wort required on the Opourapa road and that the clerk forward same to the Public Trustee for hit* sanction. Messrs Wright, Sorrensuji and Dunn were deputed to wait on the JCgmont County Council with to the alteration of the boundaries of the Parihaka road district, ti.e Opua road being fixed as the southern boundary. The original motion by Messrs Wright and Rothery fixed the Namu road, but this was defeated by an amendment moved hv Messrs Chapman and Revell. Accounts were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
