After a strike lasting ten days and involving several thousand London cabmen, the owners agreed to the drivers receiving a daily payment of 14s instead of 10s, pending*a conlercnce to consider a revision of the Right Hon. Mr Bibby, cnairman of the Pacific Navigation Company, at the annual meeting, said Australia was unpractical on the subject of the mail contract.
