Carter and <:iiff imei-vt-'-.v the gaoler .with reference lo obtaining metal and gravel at a cheaper rale, and report to tho council on Monday night ; that In future no brunch drains bio laid by the council in connection with tho -sewerage scheme : that the waterworks engineer supply details of the (Jme worked by his assistant. That Crs Urooking, Browne and Medlev be a committee to arrange for (he necessary consents and easements in connection with tii.. electric high t ( ,„.. sion line, and water pipe, line : that. Messrs Roy and 'Wilson be informed that (he council is prepared lo ioin with tlio different owners inlerested in establishing the right of the public to use the lano adjoining t | lu Taranaki Hotca as a pu'blic right-of-way ; that Messrs Briscoe' and Co.'s letter re shortage of pipes Inreferred to the borough engineer, and that thu council cannot, m-o its way clear to alter its previous decisionmaking a deduction for lalo delivery of pipes ; that consideration of the letter from the Western Park Board re closing of certain streets in Iho park be deferred until the council visits the locality on Thursdav next'at 2.30 p.m. ; that ,ClO (portion of the subsidy voted to the Western Park Board) be paid ; that provided no further cost lie entailed to (.he borough, Baring Terrace be graded as requested by Messrs Connet and Leatham ; that the borough engineer 'be instructed to see thai the terms on which the contractor for Henui bridge was allowed to remove earth from Baring Terrace are adhered to ; that Mr Webster's letter re Fulford-street be referred to inspector Stohr ; that the borough solicitor bo instructed to prepare .. local bill empowering (he council t„ purchase the gas works : thai the delegate be authorised lo withdraw the notice of motion given to the Municipal Conference with reference to the purchase of gas works : (but owing .lo the dangerous condition ( ,f Currie-sdvel (lie Harbour Board lie requested to put it into repulr ; that Mr F. M.
