Butter Prospects.
(Per Preas Association). WELLINGTON, May 31. In his report to the Department of Industries and Commerce, dated 22nd April, Mr Cameron, New Zealand Produce Commissioner at Home, says the exceedingly low prices for New Zealand butter have apparently caused improved demand for lots offering, and although there is very little satisfaction to be gained from such quotations, there is a hope that through the clearance of stock no further fall need be dreaded. The demand being large, there is a feeling that as shipments decrease in quality the price may improve. Against this, however, is to he placed the exceptionally favourable season now being experienced at Home for the growth of grass, and rapidly increasing supplies of butter may be expected from vhe Continent and other sources.
