An Art Union Enterprise.
In connection with the art union now organised by the Star Football Club, a novel plan has bean hit upon by Mr A. 10. Sykcs. He has purchased a number of books of the art union tickets, and now proposes to issue coupons to all clients of his dispensary. For every ten shillings worth of coupons on goods purchased between June Ist and August 'list Mr Sykcs will give as a bonus a ticket in the art union, which is to lie drawn early in September. His enterprise in this matter, by which lie is also benefiting a prominent local institution, will no doubt meet with a full reward, us Mr, .Sykcs generally manages to gtiage the pufl;j lie taste pretty correctly. The prizes offcri-d in the art union are well worth winning, being . pictures' by well-known artists, and include the following canvases First prize, "bake Wakatipu," valued at £42 ; second, "A West Coast Kotid," ilMl 10s ; third, "Milford Sound," £2l ; and among others 'Lake Ada," "On the West Coast Hoad," And "Lgke Wnnaka." »
