Fire at Eltham.

(Per Press Association.) ELTHAM, May'3o. A tire a* midnight on .Saturday destroyed the fruit shop occupied by i. Arthur. Part of tho store houses of tho Branch Hotel was also destroyed, containing about £SO worth of bottled ales. Tho Branch Hotel and new post office, on either sidn, had narrow escapes. Fortunately there was no wind. Tho manual engine arrived late, but soon miintcred the flames. Arthur's stock was insured for £SO in tho .Northern As surnnco office. There was no Insurance on the hotel stores destroye'l. It is not yet known whether tho hotel outbuildings were covered. The total damage is estimated u( about £2OO.
