MR J. C. WILLIAMSON'S ROYAL GOMIC OPERA COMPANY. Always the nioftt popular musical organisation in the colonies, Mr Williamson's opera company, ' which ds to appear in the Thcatro Royal on Thursday and Friday evenings next, is credited at the present time with being stronger und better in all departments than ever before. The company isj such an exceptionally large and expensive one that local playgoers scarcely expected its advent on the present occasion, and it is a tribute to their hearty patronage of Mr Williamson's companies that this visit may be attributed. Henceforth if the results on the forthcoming nights are satisfactory, and on this score there can really lie no doubt —for there has never been so greatan interest evinced in any performances for years past, then wo can confidently rely on every future attraction of note, which Australia's leading manager has under' his direction, appearing here. This is a consummation devoutly to be wished for. When it is considered that this company consists of the leading artists in tho operatic world, who come not only with reputations of tho highest distinction in vocal art and culture from Englund and America, but the pride of place in the esteem of music-lovers of Melbourne and Sydney—the two cities in tho theatres of which they are almost continually appearing—then the rich treat in store for local patrons may be imagined. We cannot enforce too strongly on those who wish to make sure of witnessing " A Country Girl " and " My Lady Molly" to secure seats immediately at tho box ollice, as the old adage of a bird in the hand being worth two in the bush may in this ease be very appropriately applied.
