In Quest of a Bequest.

(Per Frees Association.) DUNEDIN, May 17. A preliminary meeting was held today of leading Anglicans to arrange what steps should be taken to enable the diocese to claim the £25,000 bequeathed under the will of the late William Harrop to build un Anglican Cathedral on the site of the present St. Paul's. The Primate said he lwd obtained promises for over £3OOO, irrespective of £IOO offered by the clergy of the diocese. Dr. Neville said he was hopeful of being spared to see £IO,OOO contributed, in which event he would proceed to lay the foundation stone. He was hopeful oi tho outlook for raising the required £20,000 to enable the bequest 10 be claimed. The co-operation was expected of others than Anglicans, and already some such support was promised.
