Mr C. il. Thornton, editor of the Stratford Evening Post, was in New Plymouth yesterday.
Mf William Lampnd Allardyce, Coiojrial Secrptary and Ileceiver-Goner-al of Fiji, has been -appointed Governor of the Falkland Islands.
Mr F. W. March-ant, consulting engineer, will arrive here from south on Wednesday evening in connection with tlie wharf extension works at Moturoa.
Mr Green, manager of the Morshead Nursery and the City Fruit and I'lower Co., is making good progress toward)* recovery from a severe illness in the local hospital.
