Major C, M. Taylor, a Maori war veteran and an old Imperial soldier, died at Kelson on Friday, aged sixty years. The Hon. W. Stanford has resigned his position as associate to Mr Jus-t-ice Williams, in order to enter the ofllce of Mr Spelice, solicitor, Stratford Mr 11. o. Haggitt goes back to tiie associateship.

He returned to Sydney about. 1838, but camo back to New Zealand again and remained in this colony ever since. For the last 55 years he retrided at the Bay of Islands. He leaves a widow and five children, four of whom are married.
