A STRANGE INFECTION.
AN ISLAND EPIDEMIC. SYDNEY, May 9. Noumean news states that a mysterious disease has been raging for three weeks, causing great destruction to dogs, cats, pigs, fowls rah bits and rats. It also attacks human beings, mostly children. Experiments disclosed that while tho diseaso is highly infectious, it is nothing akin to plague. It is described as a kind of paralysis. Strict precautions are being taken.
