Personal Notes.
The Premier and party left Wellington for the north by the Hinomoa at midnight on Saturday.
Dr. Valintine, assistant health officer for the colony, is accompanying Mr Seddon on the trip to thu nortli in the Hincmoa. The Grand Cross of St. Michael ami St. (ieorge has been conferred on Lortl Northcote, llic Federal Governor-General.
At the High School on Friday morning Mr K. Pridbam, the headmaster, on behalf of the girls attending the school, presented Mr H. 11, Ward, the first assistant teacher, with a line set of golf sticks suitably engraved, and on behalf of the hoys with a very handsome silver entree dish, on the occasion of Mr Wurd's approaching marriage. In making the presentation Mr Pridham said ho was able to refer in most complimentary terms to the recipient, who was not only an excellent teacher, but also very popular with all the pupils. Mr Ward, in thanking them for their thoughtful presents and for the expressions of goodwill, gave the scholars a little excellont advice.
