OPENED BY PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT.

NEW YORK, May 1. President Roosevelt, in the pretence of ambassadors and members of the Cabinet and others at the White House, Washington, pressed a golden key releasing the machinery and unfurling the flag 9at the World's Fair at St. Louis, where there were one hundred thousand visitors. The Fair will probably be in full working order in about a month. Twenty-five thousand workmen are still engaged In finishing work. The exhibition covers 1240 acres, of which 128 acres are rooted in. The cost amounts to ten millions sterling.
