TARANAKI ASSOCIATION.
Th« annual general meeting of the Taranaki Hockey Association was held 111 Stratford on Tuesday evening'. Delegates were present from ull the clubs in the district, as follows :—New Plymouth, Mr\A. E. Jones ; Currington Road, Mr P. McEwen; Inglewood, Mr Garcia ; Stratford, Mr Anderson ; Stratford W.Y. M.1., Mr Cato ; Eltham, Mr Glasgow ; Huwera, Mr B. McCarthy ; Manaia, Mr GorriiUgjo. Mr Butts, of Hawera, the retiring secretary, was also present. Mr 11. McCarthy was voted to the chair, uml was elected chairman for the season. It was decided to affiliate the Inglewood, Stratford, Eltham, and Stratford W.Y.M.I. Clubs. —Election of Officers.— In consequence of the removal of the headquarters of the accosiation to Stratford it became necessary to appoint a secretary there, and Mr C. Husband was elected. Mr C. 11. Arndt was appointed auditor. —Players Disqlunlificd.— Mr Payne, a referee at Hawera, reported two players, Righam and Lusher, of Manaia, the former for insult, amd the latlter for 1 refusing! to quit the Held when ordered by the referee to do so. The latter. stated that when Bighorn gave offence Lusher (the captain) was asked to speak to him, hut he refused, saymfl that, another player should be cautioned. The "someone else " was not named. Mr Gorringe stated that Lusher wus in fault. Eventually it was decided to disqualify the two players lor Iho ensuing season, unless they tendered written apologies within fourteen days. —Subdivision of the District.— It was decided to arrange that! Hawera, Manaia, Eltham and one of the Stratford hockey clubs play in the southern division, nnd Inglewood, New Plymouth, Carrington Road and a Stratford Club in the north, the Stratford club* to arrange which shall join the northern division. Selection committees Were arranged as follows : General : Messrs Payne (Ilawera), Anderson (Stratford), and Br Fookes (New Plymouth). Northern division : Messrs Perhani, Cook, Dr. Pookes, and a Stratford captain. Southern division : Messrs Puyno, (lorringe, Donald, and a Stratford captain. —District Matches.— It was 'decided lo play two north v. south matches during the season A proposal lo arrange the fixtures for Hawera and New Plymouth was defeated by an amend men t to play (he mutches in Eltham uml I lnglewood. : No referees were appointed. -Shield.A vote of thanks was accorded a New Plymouth supporter who had offered to provide a shield without mounting's. The association undertook to pay £1 Is towards the cost of the mountings, the balance to be subscribed by the clubs. —Cup MatchesFixtures were drawn for the cup matches, to commence on May Ist. Mr Alack, delegate 1o the New Zealand Hockey Association, wus reappointed, and accorded a hearty vote of thanks for past services.
