Friendly Societies.
(Per Press Association.) WKLU.NCTOX. April 20. The first aivnuul conference of Friendly Societies was opened here today, representatives from most purls of the colony being pn.-s.vnt. Mr 11. Ualdwin, chairman, said there were now about <15,00U iiimucial lneinbers in the colony. A motion was carried recommending (he l.'overnnient to reorganise the Kriemlly Societies Act in the directiion of' s-in.i----plifying it. Other resolutions deall mainly with various regulations. The delegates were entertained to-nie-ht at a social.
