♦ THEIR MANUFACTURE IN NEW SOUTH WALES, (Received April 8, 10.-17 p.m.) SYDNEY, April H. The report of a Royal Commission appointed to iiafuirg into tho manufacture of locomotives in this State lias been issued. 'J'he report slates that it is pructieuUlo for the Government to construct ils own locomotives, either at tho railway workshops or at workshops under the control of the Kailway Commissioners, but tbe works at the Fitzroy Dock are not lavoureil ; while a minority report considers the dock a most unsuitable place for the manufacture of locomotives, and also that in open competition the pi-ice of imported engines would be much lower than the sum for whirl) they could be manufactured.
