The Senate is discussing Mr McGregor's motion emphatically protesting against the introduction of Chinese labour into the Transvaal until a referendum of the whole population has been taken or responsible government granted. Several Senators argued that as Australia had fought for the freedom of South Africa from the Boer rule her. representations against Chinese ought to receive consideration.
