MINISTERIAL RESIGNATIONS .(Received March 9, 1.6 a.m.) LUX DUX, March 8. In the House of Commons a motion by Mr Kllis, Chairman o( Standing Committees, to adjourn with a view of obtaining information regarding the circumstances ol Ministerial resignations, was negatived by 237 to 172. The debate showed that the disagreement was not so much due to mutters of fact as recollections and impressions. Air Ritchie, interrupting, informed Mr Balfour i hat he remembered Mr Chamberlain, at a Cabinet meeting on September 14th, declaring that he would resign if preference was r omitted from the Government programme, lie was not aware lhat Air Balfour had his resignation in .writing, Mr Balfour asked in reply what difference there was between a spoken and a written word. Mr Balfour's vindication of his own consistency in the Cabinet was warmly cheered Uy the occupants of the Ministerial benches and by exMinisters.,
