COLONIAL STEAMEK ON FIRE. LONDON, Feb. 8. The German-Australian steamer Augsburg arrived at Ferrol (a SpanisJ|i w*Uh a tire raging) in No. 3 hold. It is now being extinguished. Part of the topra cargo was discharged. Later. About half of the contents of No. 3 hold were destroyed. STEAMER IN A HURRICANE. (Received Feb. 9, 10.43 p.m.) ' SYDNEY, Feb. 9. The steamer Age arrived from Port Pirie. She encountered a hurricane off the Victorian coast, during which a gigantic sea broke close to th| vessel It was estimated to have been a hundred, feet high, and the flood of water descended on the vessel with tremetMlous force, sweeping her from end to end and almost throwing her on her beam ends. T%> vessel righted so suddenly that the funnel was torn from ite fastenings aod crassnod on to the rail, wrecXing a fcoat. Several of the crew narrowly escaped. The vessel came to Sydney under easy steam. \
