Peter Stephens, a draper, who filed his petition In bankruptcy i> SeptenJ>er last, showing a (ieliciency of about £3OOO after three years' ljradinftj was before the Supicme Court to-day. The churges were failing to keep proper books, having contracted certuin debts which ho hod no reasonajble prosjwet of paying, cl|tain\»ng property on credit by fnaudident means, and attempting to account for par; of his property by fictitious losses.' The hearing was not concluded.
