Land Board.
The Board met on Tuesday. Present The Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr James Mackenzie) in the chair, Messrs Heslop, Rattenjbury, and McCluggage. LAND APPLIED FOR. The application of G. F. Macdonald for section 6, block 7, Ohura, 824 acres, 1.i.p., was approved. TRANSFERS. The following were approved :—T. Ryan to G. J. Haggle, section 171, block 4, Ngatimaru ; Public Trustee (estate of R. F. King, deceased) to Catherine Coutton, section 18, block 10, Ngatimaru ; J. P. Clifford to E. Nops, section 14, Mock •1, Ngatimaru ;C. Anderson to T. Huzzlfl, "section 13, block 9, Ngatimaru ; S. J. Barns and A. Buckman to C. H. Mackinder and L. de Launay, quarter interest in cash in section 9, block 3, Ohura; 'J. H. Waller to J. N. Boddiei; •ection 22, block 12, N-gaire ; E. Walsh Junr., to E. Walsh, senr., section 4, block 1, Mi mi ; P. G. Nops to Wm. Allen, section 5, block 6, Egmont J. Williams to Wm. Allen, section 8, block 6, Egmont ; Robert Potts to A. J. Whrttaker, section 36, Wock 16, Bgmont. SUBLEASES AND MORTGAGES. Several applications for permission to sub-let and for consent to mortgage were dealt with. RANGER'S REPORT.
The Ranger reported having resumed possession of forfeited sections 4, block 5, and 83, block 10, I'ouatu. Section 4 will he reoftered under part 111 of the Land Act, 1892, and the grazing land on sections 86 and 89, on terms to be arranged by the Commissioner. REMISSION OF RENT.
The Commissioner reported having visited 'small grazing run 5, Opaku, held by Mrs A, C. Ferguson, and the Board decided that while sympathising with her difficulties it could not grant any remission of rent. LOCAL BODIES' EXPENDITURE. The Board approved of the following allocations for expenditure of d.p. "thirds" Okato Road Board, £9l •15s ; Oakura Road Board, £26 0s 6d; Moa Road Board, £156 19« 3d.
CONFIRMED. The Commissioner's action in dealing with a number of cases was confirmed. FORFEITED. It was •decided that H. Bennett's
It was •decided that H. Bennett's interest in sec. 6, block 2, Opaku be forfeited, and steps taken to recover rent due.
The interwlt of li. in section 1, block 4, Upper T~aitara, was similarly forfeited. EXTENSION OF TIMS. H. W. James was granted a further extension of six months to fulfil residential conditions cm sections 2 and 3, block 7, Ngatimaru. HOLDINGS INSPECTED. The ranger reported having inspected 30 holdings, comprising 13,177 acres. Improvements required .were £3299, and those effected were '£Bol4. Only two holders had failed to comply with residential conditions.—The report was considered very satisfactory and the defaultare will be aslced for explanations.-
