PURCHASE OF A STEAMER. Received 27, 0.47 a.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 27. Lever Brothers have purchased the Upolu for the Island trade, subject to inspection in a New Zealand dock. THE MOANA GROUNDED. A cable has been received from Vancouver that the Moana grounded whilst entering quarantine at Victoria. She got off and proceeded to Vancouver for repairs. HEAT WAVE. The heat wave still continues throughout the State. HEAVY FLOODS. ADELAIDE, Nov. 27. Heavy thunder rains in the north caused considerable damage to crops. A great flood occurred at J'amestown, bridges ami roads beinc washed away. Much hay was destroyed and miles of country were inundated.
SCENE IN PARLIAMENT. Received 27, 9.36 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 27 Tho Assembly held a series of protracted sittings to bring tho session to a close. The Government Savings Dank Amendment Hill and the Commercial Causes Bill passed The Premier* in his closing speech replying to tho good wishes of the Leader of t>he Opposition, anglWly denounced the attempts to belittle the Government and the State. It might be that he would not come back to the Assembly again and tho reason for this would lie the tactics adopted in regard to the carrying out of public affairs. The attack was warmly resented on behalf of the Opposition and a disorderly scene ensued, resulting in a count out.
