New Plymouth Horticultural Society.
TO-MORROW'S SPUING SHOW. Entries for 1903 Spring Show of the New Plymouth Horticultural Society, which will be held to-mor-row in the Theatre Royal were partially closed last evening. The number already received is much in advance of last year in several elass«>s, and with those yet to come in a record is sure to be obtained. In the sections for cut flowers, children's exhibits, 'vegetables and other classes entries will be received up till this evening, and tho secretary desires that intending excome in early in order to minimise as much as possible his work. A pleasing feature is tr»'number of new exhibitors, which indicates that a renewed and wider interest is being manifested in the work of the society. It seems a pity that the date of the Show could not have been fixed a fortnight earlier, as owing to the iinprecedentedl.v favourable spring weather flowers are to some extent " going o(T.". The committee, of course, could not foresee this, and the show will no doubt prof AM v gain in other classes what may b'o lost in the flower section. With fine weather to-morrow' a very creditable show should be recorded for this fixture.
