Dix's Gaiety Company

Dix's company of Vaudeville artists at th<* Theatre Royul, on Friday ami Saturday even/ings next, as all the performers are new, and cotue with first-class reputations. Mr Tod Callaway, the popular Anglo-Aus-tralian couiedjiun vocalist, is • th» bright particular star of the present combination, and his success everywhere fully entitles him to the position. For three years he was the leading attraction at Mr Harry Hiekard's Australian theatres, from where he proceeded to London and . made a great hit. Mr Dix secured <** Mr Callaway for his New Zealand companies, and in Wellington a lono his season lasted 18 weeks. The Williams Quartette are another most successful engagement, and their cycling act always creates a sensation. Miss Nellie Vohe is a balladist witlr a beautiful contralto voice, and her numbers are amongst the mosf popular items on the programme. Jfuch has been heard of Mr Jack Kearas, the comedian, and he will make his first apiiearance here in company with Miss Ida Roslyn, the charming scrio and dancer. Miss Emmie Smith, coon singer : Mr Ernest Hill, talented basso ; little \ era Kearns, clever child artist : Miss Flo Williams, in her original waif sketches ; and Miss Hilda Feildcr ; are also included in the present combination, which is irndouMtedly one of the finest Mr Dix has yet sent on tour.
