Mining Companies' Statements.

DUNEDIN, Nov. 19. in ' cases wbere several secretaries were charged with failing to publish in the Gazette a true and faithful statement of the affairs of their, Hilling Companies, Mr Carew, S.M., held that a secretary was not a manager of a company, but a mere servant of the directors. The cases wer» dismissed. The Crown Prosecutor intimated that in future each director would be held individually responsible in the event of the company not complying with the Act.
