New Plymouth - Opunake Mail Service.
The settlers between Opunake and New Plymouth have presented the following petition to the Postmaster General in connection with the present New Plymoultt-Opimako mail coach service.
Sir,—We the undersigned settlers in the Opmmke-New PlyinouthCoast district respectfully beg to petition you to make the following- alterations in the mail service from Jan. 1 next:—
First.—That the coack leave Opuivaki every morning at 8 a.m., arriving at New 'Plymouth at 3 p.m Second.—That the couch leave New Plymouth daily at 12.30 p.m. arriving at Opunake at 7.30 p.m'. For the following reasons • First-Thai the coach "leaving Opunake at the hour immed will b> «■ grout convenience to> the travelling public in securing the mid-dux-, with steamer <»• train, etc., will not »X- interfered with.
