The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the Agent-G«neral, dated London, 14th : The weather continues unfavourable to the meat and provision markets . The trade in mutton is vexy disappointing, tktere being only a very limited demand ; the market is decidedly weaker, and prices are slightly lower. The lamb market has been unfavourably affected by the low prices ruling for mutton awl beef. The average price to-day for Canterbury brands is 4J, brands other than Canterbury 4|d to 4Jd. There i» scaroely any demand for beef. Quotations are nominal. Average priee to-day of hind-<juarters of Now Zealand beef 3Jd to 3|d, fores 2Jd to 2Jd.
