Wreck of a Ketch.

THE CAPTAIN'S SENSATIONAL ESCAPE. SYDNEY, Nov. 13 The ketch Sir George was wrecked near, P,ort Macquaniie. Two of the crew were drowned, tat the remainder are safe. Received 14, 1.21 a.m. The Sir George was timber laden li'om Port Macqwarrie to Sydney She met a gale which drove her north. Off Smoky .Cape lighthouse a heavy sea struck her and can-leu away her rudder, wheel and bulwarks. Oapitaiin Lirtberg and two seamen at the wheel were washed overboard. The captain and one man became entangled in some wreckage and managed to get back though both were injured. The other man was not seen again. The capta.n bound the injured man to but subsequent heavy seas breaking wished him overboard. The ketch became unmanaigealble and drifted on the rocks a mile from the lighthouse. The Captain was twice again washed overboard, and the last time he landed on the rocks and was rescued by the lighthouse keepers, who also assisted amid great danger m rescuing three other men comprising the crew after they had been for five hours clinging to the rigsjingi. Tho names of the two drowned are Relieved to be F. Pip. pin and Jolssen. The Sir George was insured in the National o( New aeaiana foj #1909*
