Waltara West Road Board

The ordinary meeting of the above Board* was held on Wednesday, a.ll the meinlwrs lwiivg present. Corrospondfiice was read from the Department of Roads, stating that the unexpended balance of tlx? Government grant to Te Arei Road had been cancelled ; from Taranaki County Council re deviation of To Arei Road to proposed site of now bridge over the Waioivguna ; and from Messrs Orbell and Mackay, giving estimate of cost of grading hill and filling in swamp on the Mainaku Road. Resolved that Mr ti. Hull be instructed to proceed with erection of bridge on the Manutahi ICast Hoad, according to fa'is specifications ; also that Mr J. Skinner bv instructed to survey the proposed deviation on the Te Arei Hoad. The surfaceman was directed to remove the fence from deviation on the upper end of Te Arcißoad. The was directed to transfer the amount to credit of Reraiington Road to the Waitara Road, also the sum of £2O from Ilrown and i the whole from Tikoraivgi to the Te Arei Road. Tenders were ordered to be advertised for metal on the Devon. Tate, Miikotftahi, und YVortley Roads. Mr French was authorised to expend the rates to credit of JTvhn.stou Jioad, and Mi' Crowe £7 on upper end of Wortley Hoad. The surveyor's estimate of cost of making l lie Mamaku Road was considered too high to t)e undertaken out of ordinary revenue. Accounts wcro passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
